Science Festival 2010 - There's something about Mary...

Jul. 23rd, 2010 05:24 pm Science Festival 2010

So, it's that time of year again!

I am sorting out a group booking for the British Association Science Festival, at Aston Uni (Birmingham) from Mon 13th - Sun 19th September.

I have negotiated a special deal for our group of just £280 per person - this includes (room only) accommodation for the duration of the festival (Monday night through to Sunday morning) AND a weekly ticket to attend the festival events.

It is self-catering accommodation, so your food costs etc will be the same as they would be at home - possibly less if you take advantage of the free buffets ;-)

Regular attendees will be aware that the weekly ticket lets you into most of the events - there are only a few (generally off-campus) events that are not covered by the weekly pass.

(Incidentally, the weekly pass this year costs £120 if you wanted to buy it separately from your accommodation, and accommodation costs on top of that start from £210 for the week when booked direct with the venue, so, getting a combined deal for £280 is saving us £50 each off what the general public are paying.  This deal is only available if booked via me though!)

Please comment below if you would like me to reserve you a place, including weekly ticket AND accommodation, as part of my discounted group booking.

I will ask for the £280 once I have confirmed the booking with the organisers and know how I am paying.  My bank details are not the same as last year - I will email/text them to people individually in order for you to transfer the money to me once I have made the booking.  I don't know yet if it is just a deposit I will pay now, or the full amount.

I will be confirming numbers and so on with the BA on Monday, so please comment here by midnight this Sunday 25th July if you would like to be included in the discounted group booking.

Thanks :-)

I'd love to. I can pay in August, but not until, though.

science festival

Hi Mary Don't know what I'm doing this year I think I'm helping with a research project but have no details yet. So will probably commute as it only takes about 20 minutes by train and it's free for me after 9:30am.

Science Festival 2010

Thanks so much, Mary, for thinking of us. I would be tempted but it clashes with work, including an important rehearsal and, separately, a concert.

PS I realise I should have put my name to the comment, although with the rehearsal / concert you may have guessed it was me!

Lots of love,
